Park Branch Closes for Renovation!

The Park Branch Library closed for renovation following a well-attended closing party thrown by The Friends of the San Francisco Public Library. We were happy that so many of our neighbors came to celebrate the upcoming renovation!

Accordionist Robert Doerr performed a set, as did a duo from Music To Go from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

Refreshments were generously donated by The Haight Street Market and Whole Foods.

Community volunteers made the party a real success! They prepared refreshments, oversaw the bag painting craft for kids, and provided information about the Friends campaign to raise funds for furniture and fixtures for the renovated branch.

Staff provided regular library services and also enjoyed the festive atmosphere. It was a bittersweet day for us, as we'll miss our community a lot but we're excited to begin the construction phase of our renovation project!
