Park Branch Staff Visit Library - First Floor Changes!

On August 5 Park Branch staff were lucky enough to visit the Park Branch under construction! We were really impressed with the amount of progress that had been made already and could tell that the changes to the first floor will be welcomed by everyone.

We're always getting questions about where the nearest water fountains are and when the branch reopens we'll be able to say, "Just downstairs!" This picture shows the plumbing for those new fountains.

Great progress has been made in the community meeting room, which has shifted position from the front of the building to the middle of the building to accomodate the new restrooms and entryway. Here you can see the architect and staff in the new meeting room space:

In addition to the single occupancy restroom on the second floor, there will be public restrooms on the first floor as well when the branch reopens. These images show the tile work and plumbing already in place for those!

While visiting the first floor we also noticed an unexpected but fun feature - a piece of artwork done by a child that the construction crew found and displayed to brighten their day!
