Blue Suede Jews: Jews in the Golden Age of Rock 'n' Roll

Richie Unterberger will present "Blue Suede Jews: Jews in the Golden Age of Rock'n'Roll". The lecture will include film clips of major Jewish rock performers such as Lou Reed, Bob Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel, Carole King, Marc Bolan, Lesley Gore, Peter Green of the original Fleetwood Mac, Manfred Mann, and others.

 Admission is free.

Presidio & Buffalo Soldiers Legacy

Mr Charles Allensworth, the descendent of a Buffalo Soldier, will give a lecture and slide show on the Buffalo Soldiers.

Once garrisoned at the Presidio of San Francisco, these African American soldiers of the Regular Army have a shared history with the Presidio and were featured in the Ken Burns documentary, "The National Parks: America's Best Idea."

This speaker was arranged in cooperation with the National Parks Service.
